He employs his efforts of understanding to reach the main goal he has for Carter. Which is to establish an atmosphere created by the faculty and students that pro- motes ,a feeling of belonging and worth in each person at Carter. The total employment at Carter is very im- portant, but as Mr. White sees it, the student body is our greatest asset for the future. i Mr. l..if'htenwald takes tirne to explain prow-tliiral rules. Principal - Mr. Harold Lichtenwald Mr. Harold Lichtenwald has been principal of Carter for five years. He was selected as the outstanding administrator of Dallas by the teachers of Dallas. He has also served on many committees such as the Drug Abuse Committee and the Control Modular Schedule Program. Mr. Lichtenwald feels the job of a principal has changed throughout the years from the role of a disciplinarian, to an instructional leader. and now to a manager of conflicts. He was the head of a principal workshop in Lake Charles. Louisiana during the summer. This year, Mr. Li- chtenwald does not handle as many administra- tive duties as he has before. He can spend this extra time to establish a more personal contact with the activities going on in our school. Mr. Lichtenwald hopes that in the future Car- ter will have a self-paced program so that each student may progress on his level. Mr. Lichten- wald hopes to maintain a high morale between the students and staff through the administra- tive actions. and he thinks that everyone should strive for an enthusiastic spirit at Carter.
