The champions were Steve Hawkins, 9, Ron Galbraith, 8, heavyweight, Mark Carlson, 9, Marco Gallarzo, 8, John Dominguez, 7, welterweight, Walt Voorhis, 9, Gil Tobon, 8: Julius Smith, 7, middle- weight, Pat McDonald, 9, John Prince, 8, Mike Lesseos, 7, lightweight, Ricardo Sdgory, 9, Joe Cardea, 8, Tom McDonald, 7, bantamweight, Mike Garza, 9, Rick Monsi- bay, By John Marroauin, 7, flyvveight. 8Tr'agedy struck October 24 when popular Lewis Guzman was killed. I Be- sides tricks and treats, Halloween featured a costume dance in the gym, ' A special party was given to the three classes who brought in the highest percentage of PTA memberships. Brad and Brandon Parker, along with Greg Rc-bb, were the three individuals who sold the most mem- berships. K The Tall Tree-O, a group discovered on the Ninth Grade Field Trip to Magic Moutain, gave a special assembly presented in appreciation by the PTA for selling over TOO per cent in memberships in the PTA Membership Drive. H Eighth and ninth graders who were victorious in the afterschool volleyball program had the chance to compete November 4 at Muir in an inter-school sports meet. I0 X
