wa SPORTS For the first time eighth graders participated in a Blue-Gold game this year. Scott Boyd and Dave l-lavv- kins vvere captains for the Blue and Oscar Valdez and VValt Voorhis captained the Gold. The game vvas held November 14 and the Gold beat the Blue 15-O. This year's Blue-Gold Football Game, headed by captains Jeff Williams and Martin Ponek of the Gold and Phil Bertole and lVlarty Maggiora of the Blue, was held November 13. Blue fell victim- to Gold's excellent performance vvith the final score 25-O. Joe Taylor and Jett Williams vvere tagged for their outstanding playing. In the 20th annual Blue Gold Basketball Game the Blue topped the Gold 69 62 ID the highest scoring game ever played at Jordan Scott Greene and Dan Myers captained the Blue while Joe Taylor and Tom Parker headed the Gold Tvvo close games were lost this year to Muir in the annual Jordan-Muir Basket- ball Games, The final scores 34-33 at Jordan and 28-26 at Muir with Muir taking both games. Jordan placed second in this year's Tri-School Basketball Tourna- ment. Muir edged out Jordan for first place while Luther took third. Jordan's over-all record vvas 12 and 12. In this year's Basketball Jam- boree, held at Burroughs, the Fabulous Faculty handed the ninth grade boys a defeat of 63-59. Also featured in the Jamboree were the seventh and eighth grade championships Ninth grade gurls also took part
