The English as a Second Language Department at Jordan High is growing slowly but surely. The prima- ry goal of this progrem is to teach the students enough English so they will be able to function well in a regu- lar classroom setting. The staff members: Deborah Moss, Coordinator: Tony Velie, E.S.L. Teacher, and Carlos Sanchez, teacher as- sistant work together to privide the most individual- ized instruction for these students with support in the primary language. Spanish. Furthermore, the students with limited- English skills are mainstreamed into many regular classes such as math, physical education health. Teachers have gone out of their way to accommodate the individual needs of these students. We are lucky to have such bright and diligent students and such supportive parents and staff.
