Their duties include all the steps in preparing new books for circulation, such as collating for torn and misprinted pages, stamping, shellacking, pasting book-pockets, and filing catalog cards. They also mend books. issue books at the charge desk, check library pass permits. Once a week the group meets as a class to discuss general problems and special indexes and other reference books. In this way students increase their own efficiency and are enabled to use all libraries more easily and effectively. At least once a semester the library group enjoys a social affair. Mrs. Mildred Harrington entertained with interesting book reviews at the Christ- mas party, The program was so enjoyed that Mrs. Harrington was asked to give additional reviews to the library assistants and their friends at the Spring Punch-Tea. lt is planned to make this an annual affair.
