Men said, as they saw its beauty, It shall never know decayg Great is thy skill, 0 Builder! Thy fame shall endure for aye. J A Teacher builded a temple With loving and infinite care, Planning each arch with patience, Laying each stone with prayer. None praised her unceasing efforts, None knew of her wondrous plan, For the temple the Teacher builded Was unseen by the eyes of man. Gone is the Builderfs temple, Crumpled into the dust, Low lies each stately pillar, Food for consuming rust. But the temple the Teacher builded Will last while the ages roll, For that beautiful unseen temple Was a child's immortal soul. geo QWQICS usiclc-11L.Xll1cm C1l1nyPulliz1s The H367 12XCl'llllVC Clolulcil, Svznlvcl: xlllfli XYZQIIC Craig, .XlllCll5 Clay Plllll IS XYillzn'cl Clollim. zmcl xl1llQj'lll'Cl l.crmz11'ml. Christmas was drawing near with its special spirit. Then the benevolent groups became especially prominent. They shared the warmth ol' the llame ol brotherly love in their hearts with children not so fortunate and not so privileged as they. Still the winter season. an ice skating party was the appropriate thing needed to bring the class a little closer together. Still bound by the feeling ol' working together, the seniors strove to honor aptly Beverly Pardue, our Homecoming Queen. Sophomore Class activities began in September with a hayride as a general mixer. After food, ree- ords, and games at the home of Hubert Lawing. the sophomore sponsor, the class returned full of entlutsiasm to make their lirst year in high sehool as rewarding as possible. The roaring west was vividly portrayed as the sophomores put on a one-act play The Cold Mine of -leremiah Flats which captured second place in the school-wide contest. The scenery. props, sound effects and a major part of the direet- ing were done by the students themselves and showed their willingness and ability to work. The highlight of the year was Sophomore Day. With the general theme of Christmas and the motto of Shirt-tails out to Sophs the day carried on. Cookies made by the girls were served in the cafeteria while chapel was highlighted by the skit, 'A 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. Roger Flannery served as a modernized Santa by riding his Honda. The class also enjoyed benelirial fun by turn- ing out to carol for the Fannie Battle Day Home. Only a few frozen feet were suffered as the sopho- mores tramped through ten inches of snow. The session was ended with a Christmas Eve party. ltrauk Iret' lSt'nnett l homas Carlton Blessing Nancy Caylt- lioytt' .Intuit-s Ht-uri Blll'liIlL'l' llaxitl Nelson Burton Carol Rt-bt-rt 11 Bush Betty .lean Claxton Bailey Slt-xt-11 Coles lofi Cllzurk C10 l'1'c5iclcnl Kc-lmcllm Clark Vullim Pzlul Ilrzln ffulllplfnl l'.Yl'l3Il nlIl'l1lll Cook Sllfilll Kllllltlilll' Cook Nluluzl .Xlxfr Clorh-y llznicl l'l0Wiil'l, Craig Axlillll Kzxllxfwm- lJ:llN I IHIIIIHS Nlzllnmv I3L'NIOss Ill I'z1m1-lzl Kan IJml'sIw1 1'x lommx lallls Ibnllmglmm Xmx Han las: rllal rl Clllvryl Xllllt' limpxmm lb Czlrol l.. lixallls Xlilzl -Ivan Elcll -lzunvs Xllvn Faust jc-ff ,lohnscm Fi nlvy Millicclu lhkt l'wlIlkCl'SUll Kfllflllll jama- Ciingles Ncllu lilzlim- Gulmlcll 1.11113 xxvllflll Urigshy 162 Soplmnluu-s Clunniv Smith xml S111 umm Nl: lielvcy lJl'L'lJ1ll'C fill' lllllllllil xcn ul xl x 2l1.li'Ik buying their lycmks an lJ00ksl0n'.
