Mrs. Phyl- lis Moreland ably directed the performances made by the department. The major goal the choir achieved this year was the acquiring of new red and black choir robes which were made by the mothers of the choir members. Material for the 65 robes was purchased by the Board of Education. A Christmas program was presented by the vocal department at a school assembly on December 22 On March 20 the local music clinic was held at the high school in prepara tion for the district contest ln the eve ind concert program was presented in which Will! G S' 1 1g.,,.'rv-'Al the choir robes were displayed for the first time. The biggest event of the year was the dis' trict music contest held at Fremont on April 13 and 14. Participants in the contest included the choir, girls' glee, madrigal, sextette, triple trio, boys' quartet, and several solos.
