Televising the David City High School bas- ketball contest was a hot and cold affair, as the Scouts managed to gain seven triumphs against nine defeats over the season. The Scouts were a first division club in the Central Eight Conference for the majority of the season, but a loss to Hlbion 50-42 in the final regular game of the season forced David City to take fifth in the Central Eight. if ffi :a Q 88 if David City managed to compile two threef game winning streaks during the season, but could never come up with the fourth. Hn interesting angle turned up when Rum- baugh, for the second straight time in one athletic season, piloted a David City team to 10 straight victories. The reserves lost only to Columbus, York 1950 nnssnvss scrigniuuz Jim Frohner, Ben Zinnecker, LeRoy Smith, John Rumbaugh Kenneth Johnson, Russell Wood. Wayne Morgan. Ronald Conrad, La Dellys Varana, Verone Gibb, Norman Coulal Don Johnson, Jack Lang. and Stromsburg-all in a row. Only Colum- bus and York gave the Scout reserves serious punishment. Norman Coufal, Verone Gibb, Don Iohnson and Ron Conrad were the top scoring aces in a very Well-balanced attack. The reserves rolled along for 617 points and a 41 points-a-game average, while limit- ing their opponents to 26 points per game and a 396-point total.
