Mr. H. C. Ebmeier, Iohn Tomek, Mr. Ellis Mercer and Connie Votova, pose before the drivers training car and all the students who have taken driver's training this year. STATION YOU FIX THEM-WE WRECK THEM Over ninety students, who would have reached their sixteenth birthday by November l, l95U, enrolled in this course. The behind-the-wheel training was taken in a new Chevrolet loaned by D. D. Davis, one ot the city automobile dealers. The students in this televised safety pro- gram were also required to read two books, Page 30 l'The Nebraska Drivers Manual and Man and the Motor Car. Ht the end of the training period each stu- dent was given a driver's test and examination covering the two books. Htter the student proved eligible, a mem- ber ot the State Safety Patrol gave him the state examination in order to receive his li- cense. 5 . Irene Troupe, Henrietta Svoboda, lim Plllen, Iohn Zinnecker, Ioan Rndersori in the prize-winning play, High Window. lean Klein and Lucille Palilc practice on their speeches for District Il contest, CURTAIN CALL Lights, action, camera as the play, Oh! Father, starts the D. C. stage season. Here the students are given special training in speech, make-up and acting. The junior play, Oh! Fatherf' consisted of an all girl cast. Next, the speech department presented High Window with Ioan Plnderson, Henrietta Svoboda, Iirn Hllen, Iohn Zinnecker and Irene Troupe. The play was rated as excellent in the District ll speech contest at Omaha. loan Qnderson was rated as outstanding actress in the District ll speech contest. Three students also gave speeches at the contest. lean Klein gave an extemporaneous speech, Lucille Palik, original oratory and Irene Hinze, a dramatic reading. They were rated as superior, average and good respec- tively. The last play of the year was Inner Willie given by the senior class. Irene Hinze, speech contestant, gives her dramatic reading, Tell Tale Heart.
