The Scouts tangle with Genoa. Bottom- Basketball Reserves-Iack Hrma- gost, Ben Zinnecker, Don Iohnson, Norman Piller, Bill Ftitterbush, Mr. Rumbaugh, Leander Krivanek, Bob Lawson, Eugene Sobolik, Iack Gil- more, Leroy Smith. tgndian QS3Ll.I'ITll..S' rs Hs the seasonal skirmishes began, the braves of our tribe climbed upon their high-horses in preparation for attacking any wagon trains which might trespass upon their hunting grounds. With Chief Hair-Standing-on-End Ryan driving them on- ward, the first outstanding skirmish became the scalping of Columbus's Class Fl team, but when our braves surrounded and massacred Schuyler's wagon train, the whole tribe tossed its weapons into the air, and leaped into a war-dance of joy, for they had beaten our all-time rivals!! The younger braves freservesl attacked the wagon trains with a strong force and won ten out of thirteen skirmishes. This Was fine work fellows, keep it up for the future. Speaking of teams for future reference, we have the Papooses ffreshmen bravest who saved the hunting-grounds by corn- ing out undefeated! The trophy they won was presented to Mr. Ebrneier in an assembly program March 3l. High-Marksrnen for the year were Burdick and l-lain, both with lU3 points. We feel that all our graduating players can be rated as high-marksmen for your participation in basketball throughout your years of high school. The effort you have put forth and the sportsmanship you have displayed has been an inspiration to encourage the teams which follow in your footsteps. Basketball Varsity-Don Danaher, Darrell Curtis, Harold Grubaugh, Iim Burdick, Doyle Fyfe, Henry DeFord, Norman Muntz, Mr. Ryan, Iohn Kucera, George Hain, Morris Clemer, Gary Widle, Fldrian Tomek, lack Hrmagost.

Find way up on the shelf we find some talented papooses Cfreshmenl who staged their own war parties with braves of their own size. Having scalped Sewards freshmen as a final blow, our own freshmen team returned to its own reservation undefeated. The team is to be congratulated for the fine Work. We are certain that when the players get on the reserves and varsity they can maintain their record. Tootie Muntz was elected Honorary Captain at the football banquet-a well deserved title to an outstanding football player and all-around fine fel- low. Fllso at the banquet, football awards were given and the senior players were awarded gold football pins. Some of the activity which con- sisted of tumbling, calisthenics, and kitten ball lasted throughout the year. Here again our Freshmen carne into the spot-light. We find that they were not only undefeated in football, but also became cham- pions of the freshmen basketball tournament. You fellows have done a fine job of Keeping Fit this year. Let's hope that this will continue throughout your years at David High and we might add, for the rest of your lives, so that you may not only represent our school with bigger and better teams but that you may also represent the bigger and better citizens of our Flmerica.
