Marked by 20-0 Victory
Homecoming "68" consisted of many gala festivities.
Thursday evening at 8:00 the Homecoming parade be-
gan. The floats that represented the hard work and team
effort of all who helped decorate them passed by the
spectators, along with the school bands, the cheerleaders
and the Queen and her court. Following the parade was
the bonfire and pep rally which stirred up the spirit of
the many Redbird fans. Friday afternoon was the scene
for our victorious Homecoming game with Prairie Du
Chien. During half-time Queen Sally and her attendants
were presented to the audience, and the D,H.S, band
performed for them and their fans, With a final winning
score of 20--O, many returned to the gym that night for
the climax to the Homecoming week end.
The grand Coronation ceremony took place at 9:30 p.m.
the attendants were escorted by four football letterman,
which followed the presentation of all of the senior Foot-
ball Letterman. Queen Sally and Captain Dan Weigel
then appeared and she was crowned as D,H.S. Homecom-
ing Queen of 1968.

On the night of October 25, the doors of Darlington
High School were opened to welcome returning
alumni and students to the 1968 FFA Sweetheart
dance. Music was provided for the event by the New
Counts, a local rock group.
At ten o'clock the candidates were escorted to the
crowning area by the officers of the FFA Chapter.
The ballots of the attending boys were tallied and
announcer Denny Malott named Sophomore atten-
dant, Beth Thomas, Sweetheart '68,
The queen and all her attendants then led the Sweet-
Queen Beth and her court each received a compli-
mentary box of candy from the FFA Chapter.
