SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Scnxors at last' In September 1954 vue began the last lap of our Journey through hlgh school VVQ were no longer looked down upon by upper cla n en Now we sat nn thc balcony Isle held our hrst clas meetmcf under the supervlsxon of our class adv1sor DO'1 Ixer VICC Presrdent Dlck Dennen Secretary Barbara Mader Treasurer Nr Hou k 'md elected our offrcmr for th s most rmportant year Pre ldent Vzclue 1VIood1e and Hxstorlan Loxs Seebold Our flrst major venturc o' the year was our Magazme Sales We brol e all precedmv records by exceedmv our goal of S34 000 by more than Sm00 Naturally the g1rl sold ncorc magazmes than the boys and consequently were the boys gue ts at a dO 'g16 roast held at the football held Needless to say everyone had a wonderful t1me We proved our superxor salesmanshlp a second txme by sellmg peanuts We old 150 dozen rags of peanuts and made a proht of S250 Thls may secm hke peanuts but lt was all for thc good of our class Th1s year for the flrst tnme ln many years our football team defeated the Lew1stown Panthers 20 to 6 They also won every other game and went on to A number of dances were held durmg thls school year and all were greatly enjoyed After our homecommg football game a dance relgned over by home commg queen Ianet Mes crsmlth was held at the Y M C A A dance was held after the Bloomsturg game for all Danvllle and Bloomsburg students The Student Councxl spon ored a Slave Dance whlch was also well attended On March 31 and Aprll 1 the Sen1or Class play was presented As 1n past years It agam proved to le a great success thanks to Mrs Free and a cast of talented students Kvlth the Cla s Play over 'md Class Day only a memory everyone wa lookmg forward to our class tr1p Th1 was the tr1p for whlch we had been savmff our ha d c rned money After snendmv vonderful and exc1t1nU day ln New York C ty we all agreed that rt had been well worth the effort After our trlp to New York xt was only three days untxl graduatlon On the mght of June 10 w thc class of S5 entered the hmgh school audltorlum for our graduat on exercrse We reahzed that thls was the goal we had been chmbmg towards smce that first day rn the first grade We would now leave behmd our day at D H S and the hne teachers who gulded us successfully through the p t few ycars We wlll all remember our hlgh school days as happy ones Lois SFFBOLD SGHIOT Class Hlstorlan 36 ' . , 1-c-. SOPHOMORE CLASS HISTORY At last we have started our journey Cyou knowl that one through Dan vxlle Semor H1gh School I know everyone of us can remember that blg day when the doors of Semor Hxgh were opened to us the Class of 53 We were here only a few days when a meetmg was held Mr Mensch m troduced to us our class advlsor Mrs Houck It wasn t long untll We found out that 1f xt weren t for her we would be lost at domg many thmgs That day at the meetmg Mrs Houck selected a commlttee who chose pupxls to be put before the class and voted upon as class offxcers The follow mg offlcers were elected Presldent jack Stump Vice Presldent Davxd Fow ler Secretary janet Messersmlth Treasurer Tom Rxchardson and Hlstorlan Yvonne Lemon Wlth thls settled the class offlcers had a meetmg and nommated a com I'llttCC to choose our class colors flower and motto The class colors are blue and whlte the flower IS the Whxte Ir1s and the motto lS Be the Labor Great or Small Do It Well or Not At All It wasnt long untml the class needed money and lt also wanted a httle pleasure so plans were made for a Chrlstmas Dance Wlth the profit made from th1s dance and other actxvmtles held we soon had one problem settled The bmg day none other then the day when we selected our class rxngs finally came It seemed that on that day we were startmg to get somewhere at last Sophomore Class Hxstorlan JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY Now we were at the halfway mark of our journey towards success Wlth our hrst lap fimshed successfully we began our second lap under the capable supervxsxon of our class advlsor Mrs Houck We held our first class meetmg and elected the followmg as offxcers Pres cient Edward Dalley V1ce Presxdent Hubert Kester Secretary janet Me ersmxth Treasurer Donald Fowler Hlstorlan Donna Kay Henrxe As the old saymg goes good thmgs are worth waltmg for but we dxdnt h ave to walt long lsecause on September 25 our class rlngs finally arrxved The ne xt event was the candy sales at whxch we were very successful The candy was sold at noon hours and basketball games Also durmg the year there were everxl round and square dances sponsored by all three classes and enjoyed by everyone On May 21 the jumor Semor Prom was held and lt was sxmply Out of thns World and why not that was the theme' Now our second lap IS completed and we have our last and fmal year to antlclpate jumor Class Hlstorman DONNA KAY HFNRIF 30 A ' ' an -vu . . , .
