SOPHOMORE CLASS HISTORY In September 1949 our class as Sophomores entered the portals of D H S ready to undergo the many labors necessary for graduatlon Havmg held our first class meetmg that same month we started a worth whlle year by appomtmg a nommatmg commlttee for the selection of class officers The follow1ng ofiicers were elected Presrdent Lee Cromley Vrce Presxdent George Lerghow Secretary Dot Stump Treasurer Verda Koser and H1stor1an James Paugh These officers servmg as a committee chose the rose as our class flower green and whlte our colors and our motto All for one and one for all Gu1d1ng us throughout the year was our class advlsor Mr Myerley Besxdes takmg part xn a var1ety of school aCtlVltlCS the Class of S2 clarms outstandmg representatlon m athletrc events Nme members of our class were on the Varslty football squad a slzeable number on the Jayvees and two gxrls asslsted the cheer leadmg lmeup-not to forget basketball and baseball A most rmportant day for us that year was when we declded on and ordered our class rmgs Thxs was but one of the events we were all lookmg forward to rn our hxgh school career The event of the year however was on March 3 the Sophomore Dance our lives Havmg cllmbed one rung of the ladder we were all lookmg forward to our rema1mng years at D H S JAMES PAUGH IUNIOR CLASS HISTORY September 1950 was the beg1nn1ng of our jumor year And what an CXCltll'lg one It was We started the year by electmg the followmg officers Presldent Robert Kear Vlce Presldent Harold Shutt Secretary Margaret McIndoe Treasurer Robert Bloskey and Hrstorxan Deborah Krapf Our class advlsor Mr Myerley and our officers d1d an excellent Job of steerlng us safely through a long but happy jumor year The long awaxted class rmgs soon arrlved and were we ever proud' On February 1 we sponsored a skatmg party at Island Park and a good txme was had by all The jumor Class Party was held April 6 rn an audltorxum decorated wlth Aprxl Showers The hlghllght of the year the Jumor Prom took place on May ll was a Cmderella Ball wxth Cmderella Prlnce Charmmg and Cmderellas srlver slrpper as the theme of decoratxons Our commrttees worked hard and gave us a truly never to be forgotten prom Wxth our jumor year behmd us we look forward to greater achlevements 1n our year to come when we are SENIORS DEBORAH KRAPF 32 Y - . .
