e Clarion 51 Class History The Senior Class of 1951 began the last four years of its school career on September 2 1947 looking ahead eagerly to the work and the good times which would lead to that final goal our diploma We began the year with an enrollment of 42 pupils with Mr Kaylor as our home room teacher and Martha McMillan as class president Two members of the class were 1n1t1ated into the Honor Society Martha McMillan and Helen Plgman We were represented in the band by Eva Bower Charles Durbin and Car roll Shultz Several members of the class are on the newspaper staff We entered our Sophomore year with 41 pupils under the supervision of Miss Durbin and President Charlie Durbin Eva Bower and Nancy Colopy became members of the Honor Society As the Iunior Class of 1950 we began our s hool year x ith 37 puprls Mrs Howard Fowler was our instructor and Glen Mickley was President basketball team Shirley Workman Glen M1ckley Charles Durbin Eric Wmterhalter were 1n1t1ated into the Honor Society this year Martha McM1l1an was our cheerleader and Queen attendant The high points of the year were our class play The Climbing Roses and the Iumor Senior Banquet Now we find ourselves Seniors under the superv1s1on of Mr Senft and our president IS Wayne Frank Our enrollment is now 34 This year ll participated in football and 7 in basketball Now as we approach the ending of these fmal four years the Senior Class of 1951 wlshes to thank their parents and the fa ulty for the1r whole hearted a1d and cooperation in these important years of our l1fe We shall always look back with pleasure to the years we have spent as students of Danville High School Helen Pigman Page Twenty six I I . 7 ' " K."
