FROSH FOOTBALL The Freshmen team ' s 5-1-3 record was good enough to take second place in SAL play. The Spar-Babes started slowly tying San Dimas 0-0 and San Gabriel 14-14. Then league play began with a convincing 34-0 victory over Ganesha. But the Spar-Babes couldn ' t maintain the streak and tied Pomona 0-0. The following week they picked up and beat Montclair 26-6. The streak continued as Garey fell 23-0, and Upland bowed out 20-12. The streak ended when the Spar-Babes met Don Lugo. It was a close loss, the final score being 12-24. The final game came against Claremont. The Spar-Babes pulled it out 20-17. They were coached by Mike Noonon, Steve Du Rousseau and Gary Audi. The best offense award went to Joe Vigil while best defensive playr went to Scott Stanier. The overall Most Valuable Player was Scott Meyer.
