SOPHOMORE FOOTBALL The Sophomore Team compiled a 7-2 Record and finished third in League. They began by defeating San Dimas 16 -6, San Gabriel 20-0 and Ganesha 19-0. Pomona faired little better losing 13-0. The first team to upset the Sophomores was Montclair. The game was close but ended 8-14. Damien began to recover and defeated Avia- tion 12-9. They then trounced Upland 47-7. Chi no, however, proved to be too much and the Sophomores lost 0-17. The Spartan Squad ended the season victoriously overpowering Claremont 20-13. The Offensive Most Valuable Player was awarded to David Weiss. Defensive honors went to Jerry Schlesinger and Greg Faust. The Most Improved award went to Tim Byrnes.
