JUNIORS MATURE For the class of 1969, their junior year meant an increase in responsibility and leadership at Damien High School Gone were the carefree days of their sophomore year. These were but happy memories in the distant past. Juniors met the challenge of this transition period. They proved that they were able to accept the mantle of leadership which would soon be draped upon their shoulders. Academically, the third year men found this year to be the toughest they had yet faced. O E) ' Rory Agnello Rocco Anzaldi r Rick Armijo Paul Arroyo Gil Astruc Bruce Bartulis Tom Baumann emerged more enlightened, more informed, and more inspired in the diverse fields of literature, algebra, and American history. Athletically, the class showed that it would not be outdone in the pursuit of success. Juniors played a key role in the highly successful ' football season. They also participated actively on the varsity level soccer, basketball, baseball, and track teams. Socially, the juniors showed their talents by hosting a thoroughly , enjoyable Prom. Much hard work and skillful preparation made such a i fine Prom possible. Attendance and participation at other social func- tions was second to none. All of these together indicate a maturing and capable junior class. As the graduating seniors leave, they can be assured that they are handing the reins of leadership to worthy students.
