May 29, 1968 Fellow students and friends of Damien High School: Another year is coming to a close and the first class of seniors will be leav- ing Damien High School; four years ago they were new to Pomona Catholic, soon they will be old grads of Damien. It is a never ceasing pattern of life. That which is new today, is old tomorrow. We have tried to sandwich between the thin covers of a book so many memories of unique experiences. We attempted to preserve the memories of this transitory life, the nostalgia of future years. Speaking for the staff, we hope that we have served our purpose: putting in print that which has taken place during 1968, preserving the best of the new for posterity. There are so many people who helped on the staff, it is impossible to name them all here. But those who did outstanding work were Franz Brown, who did virtually all our layouts, Bill Archibald and Stephan Lamb, who were in charge of copy, Doug Edelbrock, who helped out in crises of every kind. Also Paul Crea, our assistant editor, who helped and took my place in times of need. Thanks to Dennis Loudon, our photographer. Without him, this yearbook would not have been possible. Also thanks to Mike Griffin, who offered us moral support when we most needed it. We would like to give special thanks to Mr. Tonsing, our advisor, for giving freely of his advice and knowledge. He gave the annual a truly professional touch. The staff was constantly indebted to Mr. Robert Herrick, our photography advisor; we feel that the increased quality of student photography was due considerably to his untiring efforts. The expanded ad section speaks for itself. Under Rick Brink ' s business management the Spartiate has more than paid its own way.
