Soccer Season Resume ' The soccer team progressed into its second year of action this year fielding a team that had a season con- sisting of two games. This year ' s team was coached by Fr. Peter Dennis and got a lot of help also from other priests on the faculty. Last year ' s team had only one game but fared well in holding touted Salesian High to only a 2-1 victory. This year ' s team suffered defeats at the hands, or rather the feet, of the San Gabriel Mission High squad. The first game was held on the victors field and they could not hold them due to the lack of practice. The next meeting of the two schools took place on the home field and this time they did exceptionally well in hold- ing them to a 3-1 win. This year ' s squad possessed only six seniors, Redmond Johnston, Bill Motya, Bill McCay, Jim DuBran- sky, John Beereboom and Pat Gillespie. Next year ' s team should fare better than the previous two. They are looking forward to participation in a league and with a couple more years on the field should be able to send a fine team to represent us. n
