DEDICATION The dedication of an annual is perhaps the greatest honor that a student body can confer. The per- son selected Is held high in the mind of each and every student and deserving of the highest grati- tude and admiration. It is only proper then, that we, the students of Pomona Catholic Boys ' High dedicate our first annual to the one personality who has been first and foremost in the guidance and development of our school. That person is none other than our principal, the Very Reverend Fred- erick Furey. In the gray beginnings Father Furey was given a handful of condemned buildings, a strict budget, and the Cardinal ' s blessing to create in a few short months a working, efficient establishment of edu- cation. To many this would have been an insurmountable task, but for Father Furey and his undying enthusiasm this was a challenge. He immediately instituted a building program and a plan of action which he hoped would eventually lead to a well equipped educational plant which would prepare the citiziens of tomorrow . The challenge of building men from boys wasn ' t an easy one and it presented many obstacles, but for Father Furey, who gave so generously and unselfishly of his time and effort, each difficulty was met and surmounted. Today, as our first graduation approaches. Father Furey ' s dream is becoming a reality and it is at this time that we salute him for a job well done and a challenge well met. 44
