' e Lointnt-itt'iI students take dictation. lltutr Mt. lltown l'm Anna Lee's pencil. Early in Septemher she took me into a large classroom and began mak- ing the most peculiar marks with me. Since then, for one period a day and hours each night, I have been writing that way. I heard her say that it is shorthand The second-year students interpret and then type the dictation they take in shorthand Once she left me in this room, and I had a chance to observe the bookkeeping class. A por- tion of the period was spent in discussion and the remainder used for a work period. Before I was picked up and carried from the room, I also saw two typing classes in action. Both girls and boys were pounding away on the typewriter keys. It must have been time writing day. This is one room that surely sees its share of ambitious teenagers who have their minds focused on a worthwhile joh alter graduation.
