HOMECOMING ’84 For those of you who went, you know that Daleville’s 1984 Home- coming was definitely something to be remembered! A lot of good cheer, humor, and Spirit had shone through in those who took pride in our school. A lot of students participated during Spirit Week. Tuesday was Farmers Day; Wednesday, Fifties Day; Thursday, Stars Day; and Friday, Spirit Day. After school, everyone went to work on their class floats, to get them ready for the Homecoming Parade on Thursday night. At the end of the parade, the class win- ners for the floats was announced. The winner of Daleville’s 1984 Homecoming float was the Sen- iors, in recognition of their hard work, time, and effort put in to make their float something to be proud of. Friday was Homecoming Day! A lot of student’s came to school ex- cited about the Homecoming game. Understanding teachers watched their students’ excite- 24

ment mount as they figeted in their desks, and the time drew nearer and nearer for the game to start. Unfortunately, the Daleville Warhawks lost in a tough battle to the Ashford Yellowjackets. This did not stop everyone from look- ing forward to the Homecoming dance though! Everyone left the dance sad- dened by the thought of Home- coming ending so soon, but glow- ing with the memories that they will treasure forever.
