The 1973-1974 Daleville PTA had a most successful year. The PTA sponsored the Little Miss and Miss Daleville Contests, the Halloween Carnival, Arts and Science Fair, and the Spring Carnival. The Daleville PTA had 314 members. They received their PTA charter from state and won the Gold Leaf and Oak Leaf Awards during 1973-1974. The new bylaws presented to state from Daleville were also approved. PTA programs were Changes in Elementary and Secondary Curriculum, by Mr. Woodham; Functions of the City School Board,” by Dr. Reeves; the Daleville ROTC Rangers, 18-man precision drill team; and a slide presentation by the Daleville ROTC battalion staff on past, present and future goals. Open house was held in September 1973 and February 1974 with refreshments being served. Mrs. Norman Laumeyer was head homeroom mother.
