For underclassmen it is one year out of many, but for seniors it is the final chapter in this phase of their lives. There have been the best of times and the worst of times, but let's re- member the good times . . . the light-hearted moments . . . those feelings of excitement and elation . . . accomplishment . . . and most of all the affec- tion, the trust and the closeness of a friend. may ENOS 1 f ANOTHER CHAPTER INVOCATION DADE COUNTY COMMENCEMENT May 30, 1973 OOod, Who through Thy Spirit in the young Carpenter of Nazareth hast changed the face of the world, and in every age dost call the fresh vigor of new life to thy sc nice, we pray for the youth of our generation, and especially for these whom we honor this night. As these seniors beg;:, now to enter into life more fully, having prepared themselves up to this point, we beseech Thy fatherly good- ness to go with them. As they continue to grow let them continue to learn how to live well. ' oliver them from cynical attitudes and unbelief; save to the tyranny Of u which, free to i fro::, mistaking license for liberty, from surrender Ssciplined desires, and from the slavery begin, they will not be free to end. O Lord, we beseech Thy presence here this night, and pray Thy guiding Spirit to go before these graduates all the days of their lives. Out of their youthful spirit of daring bring m a t u r i t y of independent minds and venturesome endeavors; and so lead them from youth to age, that they may transmit to their children a better world than ours. In the name of Christ we ask it. Amen. Reverend George Dunbar 152 . . f ■ • ■r - r • : ■- v ' .V :“■•■ -. . • • • s • ■■•- ; v, _ ;‘.w V « ;•- ' —• •. “ - ; '. '• , .. -■• - v J- ' „ 9 -J .
