Varsity Cheerleaders Left to right: FIRST ROW - Kim McKaig, Louise Bradford, Audrey Jeffery, Becky Allen, Carol West. SECOND ROW - Sharon Rogers, Kathy Forester, Cathy Bradford. With the announcement of the 1970-71 Varsity Football Cheerleaders, eight girls began one of die most hectic years of their lives. Few people ever realize what a season means to a cheerleader. To them, a season meant preparation, smiles, and a lot of spirit. Preparation meant going to camp. Superior, excellent, and honorable mention ribbons made their summer worth while. Autumn found the same eight girls ready for action. Win- ning and losing was all part of the game, but winning was the part that they liked best. At the end of the season the same eight girls weren't ready to give up their titles. Graduation claimed three of them whereas the others will be waiting for next year. 26
