Throughout the season the Wildcats showed great desire and determination to win. This re- flected in their 9-2 season record and the region championship. The Cats kept on going many times against unfavorable odds. How- ever, these odds were overcome by cooperative teamwork and strong determination. 23

Awards Received by Individuals David Lynch Terry Powell As the Wildcats ran on the field for the first time, the crowd knew that it was cheering a great team. The tiling they didn't know was that this was a superior team. The Cats proved this many times with such performances as almost getting past Pisgah, a class AAA team rated first in Alabama. After the agony of defeat the Cats came back to beat Trion and Eastbrook for the Region 6-B cham- pionship. Important region games such as Trion and Eastbrook made it possible for seven members of the Cats’ team to be placed on the All-Region Team. Other members of the Cats' team won various awards. ALL-REGION: Terry Powell, David Lynch, first team; Mickey McBryar, Terry Langham, David Page, second team; Ken- ny Keel, Lewis Wheeler, Honorable Mention.
