Don Hammond, Counselor Mrs. Imogene Ryan. Secretary Mr. James E. Cleveland, Principal PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE Congratulations to the staff and sponsor of the 1970 Wildcat for a job superbly done. A person's values are set by his moral, religious, and educational processes. With- out this value system there can be no peace and understanding for mankind. It is with sincere hope that the students of Dade County High School set their goals high and strive diligently to achieve these values which will result in a better life for every- one. Sincerely, jifo . QL A aJL y 14

SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE The United Nations was formed some twenty-five years ago in order to have a forum where problems could be worked out in an orderly and peaceful manner. Instead of solving problems among nations, problems have been compounded be- cause of the selfish attitudes of the member nations. Nations, groups, or individ- uals cannot do their own thing without infringing upon the rights of others. The youth of today are to be commended for their concern for our environ- ment, human rights, and the welfare of the unfortunate. However, these prob- lems cannot be solved by copping out, taking dope, or overthrowing the estab- lishment. If you 1970 seniors have learned anything in your twelve years of schooling, I hope it is that people can live together in harmony when each person concedes equal rights to everyone. Up to now we have not found a better formula than do unto others as you would have them do unto you. ” Mr. D. L. Stanphill, Superintendent of Schools 13

The library reaches almost every student. It is a quiet place to cram for an exam or thumb through a magazine. There is a wide variety of reading material available for study or for pleasure. Study Hall is a life saver for those who neglected to get their homework the night before. It is also a good time to study and catch up on out-of-class work. The band is one of the most outstanding groups in the school. The success of the band depends largely on the leadership they receive. It appears that Mr. Hobby has done a remarkable job this year. He is shown at left conducting the band at the Christmas con- cert. By taking Driver's Education the young driver learns correct driving habits and techniques. Mrs. Ina Mr. Royce Callahan, Callahan, Study Hall Driver's Education Mrs. Marjora Mr. James Hobby, Fricks, Band Director Librarian 15
