tlfr sai iH te ©crunt r Hiijh Sehmxl STnentan, ($£0ram Dedication Words cannot express the respect and gratitude of everyone, past and present, toward a woman who is never too busy to stop and talk with a student or to help the school in any way she can. She has voluntarily given much of her time to the Junior-Senior Prom as well as other school activities. In appreciation for such devoted service the Yearbook Staff proudly dedicates the 1968 WILDCAT to Mrs. Julia W. Cleve- land. In Memory Of BOBBY GETTER Bobby was a friend to all. We shall never forget his contributions to the senior class and to the whole school. His pride and joy in playing in the Dade High Marching Band was an inspiration to all. Foreword We, the 1968 WILDCAT staff, are proud of the SPIRIT that has been shown by the students of Dade High this year. We look to the future with the hope that this SPIRIT will keep rising. The SPIRIT of Dade High has been the KEY TO OUR HAPPINESS. We have tried to present a key to each division and activity of high school work and fun. Knowing that the key to SUCCESS and HAPPINESS is the spirit of enthusiasm, we have all whole- heartedly joined in to make this WILDCAT one of the best ever, and with this thought, we proudly give you the key to our 1967-68 WILDCAT. 4 Contents This is the key to your book. We, the yearbook staff, hope it will open the door to the many happy memories of 1968. Being a WILDCAT is cheering the team onward whether we win or lose, in any sport. Being a WILDCAT is knowing that in whatever sport a WILDCAT is playing, he is playing with all his heart and trying hard to win. Being a WILDCAT is being united under one name, being proud of that name, and all that it stands for. Being a WILDCAT is knowing that whatever troubles or hardships occur, affecting one person or everyone, it will always work out right because we are WILDCATS. Everyone of us works together to make the name of WILDCAT a name to be proud of. Being a WILDCAT is knowing what truth and honor really mean and the ideals they stand for. No true WILDCAT will tarnish our cherished name by being untruthful or disrespectful. We are a very fun-loving group who enjoy ever) moment of this life. At the same time, we are the first to take our responsibilities seriously and to show others what a WILDCAT is by our examples Other people may boast of their superior qualities and good sportsmanship, but a WILDCAT knows that action speaks louder than words. Once a person becomes a WILDCAT, no matter what else he may be, he is always a WILDCAT. Time can never change the fact that the WILDCATS are, and always will be, the greatest in the world. HOLMES Board Of Education Superintendent’s Message I challenge the 1968 graduates to a self-evaluation by asking your- selves a few questions. Where am 1 now? What is my goal in life? What should I do to reach this goal? Although there is help available, you must make the decisions.
