DONALD CHEATHAM M.Ed., University of Georgia French class makes posters for school project Listening to tapes in French aids in comprehension of the spoken language. Everybody has his own opinion of English. Four units of English are required for gradua- tion. Students learn better speaking habits and acquire a wider vocabulary. They are taught an appreciation of all types of literature, and they learn to think critically and objectively. French, which is the only foreign language taught at Dade, is recommended for college- preparatory students. French classes teach stu- dents to speak and read the language confidently and to understand it when it is heard.

Mathematics In our way of life mathematics provides some foundations for much of our progress. Math classes increase students' ability to think with the ideas of mathematics, promote competence in mathematical understandings, and bring about an understanding of mathematical concepts and principles.
