HISTORy The Seniors were a fun-loving, mischievous, and somewhat barbaric tribe that settled at Dade High School for a period of four years. Little is known of their historical backgrounds. Some historians believe that the Seniors were shipwrecked and sought refuge at Dade High School in the fall of 1945. Their first year in this strange place was difficult, but somehow they lived through it. The second year was almost uneventful, but the third year proved very exciting. During that year the majority of the Seniors staged a series of strikes and a revolt against the Algebra teacher! After years of research and hard work, they decided to enjoy the fourth and most important year. But near the end of the year many became sad, especially those infested with love bugs. On May 22, 1950, the Seniors graduated to a higher level of civilization, leaving behind many artistic works, such as carvings on the desks, beautifully monogramed and autographed murals on the walls, and pictures of the teachers, which are really masterpieces. All these, they left for the enjoyment of the next generation. With this statement- ‘‘Good Luck Juniors!” CLASS PAOPHECy Of 1950 It is now the year of I960, and as I write my mind goes back to the year 1950, when all the Senior class was gathered together in OLD DADE HIGH SCHOOL. They were there mainly for the purpose of learning, loving, and leaving as soon as possible. From time to time I hear from those classmates, and I find that lone Bradford has retired to the top of Lookout Mountain, for the purpose of seeing what goes on in the valley below. Josephine Barton is still engaged. She believes in long engagements so she can get acquainted with her fiance. Deloris Buchanan has married and gone to the far off city of Chattanooga to live. Elsie and Martha Bible are married and raising their families where there’s plenty of food, in CLOVERdale. Virginia Blevins is still singing over WDXB, and has as the Master of Ceremonies, Jonny Wallen. Mickey Blevins has migrated to Texas, where there's plenty of room to continue his 4-H club work, and is running a Catus Farm. Bernice Cristoopher has took charge of the Trenton postoffice, in the hope that some desirable male will come along. Clifford and Clifton Cagle are running a bus line from Rising Fawn to Chatt. for female passengers only. 9
