It encourages its members to develop farming methods that will eventually help them in their occupations. FFA participates in conservation and forest management projects, and it promotes other proj- ects useful in the farming community. It develops good relationships within the rural area, operating under the provisions of the National Vocational Education Acts. The purposes of FHA include promoting the satis- faction and joys of homemaking, working for a worthy democracy and leadership in family and community life. FHA also strives to promote inter- national good will and wholesome recreation for all. Some of the projects of FHA are donating a food basket for a needy family at Christmas, singing Christ- mas carols at the county hospitals, sponsoring candy sales, and participating in the state convention and demonstration program. The group also is sponsoring a Jamaican foreign child, a project from the pre- vious years. The Club also has concessions at some athletic events to raise money for projects such as the purchase of green athletic jackets for the members. The threefold purpose of the organization is to promote greater participation in ath- letics, to promote better sportsmanship, and to create enthusiasm for further educa- tion. The members must possess a major letter, and they must keep the Club train- ing rules.
