The 1966 track team's season was successful. Although the team lacked the true balance needed to be successful, the boys made up for it through sheer determination. Having no really good sprinters, the team had to rely upon its relay teams. These were the real strong points of the whole team. In the beginning of the season Coach Howard Stiehm knew that the tea.m was hurting for distance men, but he was also aware of a fine group of underclassmen. It was these under- classmen who were the basis of the team.
