“1042397 SOPHOMORE CLASS HISTORY When we enrolled as freshmen, there were twenty-two stu- dents. They were: Dale Ingersoll,, Lisle Morgan, James Hobby, Clarence Berry, James Patterson, John Cowan, Walter Erps, Dick Tomsick, Fred Blei, George Gutierrez, Emil Roy, Frank Baker, Sue Hardin, Cecile Knuth, Sonja Thorson, Donna Hanssen, Mary Lee Jennings, Mary Littrell, Louise Chockley, Deloros Kidder, Cath- erine Blei, and Shirley Stewart. Our class sponsor was Mrs. Russell Neef. Our Class officers were: President ---- Clarence Berry, Vice President - James Patterson, Secretary - John Cowan, Treasurer--Dick Tomsick, Reporter - Louise Chockley, Student-- Council members - James Hobby and Dale Ingersoll. In December we presented our first assembly. We sang songs, square danced and had a mock wedding. At Christmas time we drew names for a gift exchange. In January we lost George, and Mary Jenning, when she got married. We had our first party in Feb- ruary. It was held in the gym, and we invited guests. Wefiayed games and danced and had a good time. In March Sonja Thorson moved to Canon City. The Junior- Senior Prom was held in April, and the Freshmen girls washed the dishes from the Banquet. Some of the freshmen also rated invi- tations to the Prom. At the end of April we had another party in the gym. We started our Sophomore year with seventeen students having lost Sue Hardin and Cecile Knuth during the summer. Our class sponsor was Mr. Harold Stacy and our class officers were: President - James Hobby, Vice President - Delores Kidder, Secre- tary - Donna Hanssen, Treasurer - Louise Chockley, Reporter-- Mary Littrell, Student Council members--Dale Ingersoll, and Dick Tomsick. A During the first week of school we lost Shirley Stewart when she moved to Durango. Later, Evelyn Lane from Canon City, joined our class. We presented an assembly for the P. T. A. Christmas Program At Christmas time we drew names for a g1ft'exchange. Our class grew again when Betty Nelson Joined us, coming from Saguache. --Donna Hansson
