1042397 bU'li0I Typical of the Juniors, a hilarious time was had in pre- paring and presenting the play nWe Shook The Family Tree.n Miss Davison, our director, and Robert Guild, our assistant director, patiently molded twelve njubilant Juniors' into the Dolson family and their friends. Hildegarde Dolson, a teenage girl, fBernadette Stewart! was tired of being a nwallflower' and entered a debate in school, 'Should We Return to Proh1bition?' hoping to be noticed and thus invited to the prom. Without meaning to she gave the im- pression her father was an alcoholic. In the roll of Mr. Dol- son, Happy was not as his nickname implies, but a stern, short tempered man, who frequently lost it. Mrs. Dolson Kwilldra Walker! felt sorry for Hildegarde and arranged a date for her with Freddie Shermer C Jerr Piquettel who was a nice enough boy, but lhorror of horrorslg wore knickers due to his mother, Mrs. Shermer CSuzie Luthil. She cou1dn't for wouldn'tl real- ize that she was old enough to have a son in nlong pants.' Bob and Jimmy, Hildegarde's brothers and Ellie Mae, Bob's heart throb and her chum Jill, made life miserable for Hilde- garde by teasing her endlessl about her nbig date.u Sally, the younger sister lPat Eaklnsg stood by Hildegarde staunchly through all this. Donnie Hartbauer and Forrest Johnson took the part of Bob and Jimmie, while Lavada Claymon and Kathryn Kidder were Ellie Mae Nelson and Jill Smith. Hildegarde always seemed to do the wrong things. It seemed harmless enough when caring for little Paige Mason CCarol Hig- gins! one afternoon she gave her a pack of envelopes to play mailman with. They were Mr. and Mrs. Dolson's early love let- ters though, and Paige distributed them all over town. Mr. Shermer CMel Manningl Mr. Dolson's employer was very disturbed about the nalcoholic and love letter rumorsn that were circulating around town. So to proveiizwas just a little misunderstanding, Mr. Dolson invited he and his wife over to nmeet the family.n' What a mistake! Jim ie's electric wormer was turned on in the yard and worms were crawling everywhere. Jimmie and Bob had gone fishing and caught a four pound bass which they deposited in the bathtub. While the Shermers were sitting quietly in the living room Hildegarde came nscreaming inn Qwith beauty mud all over her facej about the bass in the bathtub. Then to top it all off, unknown to the Shermers, Freddie was a visitor at the Dolson home. He had Wsecretly borrowedn the trousers from Bob's suit to wear to the prom. He came bursting in the living room joyously waving the pants. Bob in his shorts rushed in after him and tackled Mr. Shermer thinking it was Freddie. To top it all off, the Shermer house was broken into and Freddie's watch stolen. The blame? On Hildegardel Who else? Freddie confessed it was he who took the watch to exchange for a 'long pants suit.' And Freddie and Hildegarde were the handsomest fend happiestj couple at the dance.
