There he met the World famous wife of the newly elected president, Adlai Stevenson Jr., who before her recent marriage, was our old pal, Bertha Mae Kattnig. While visiting her he heard that Helen Millard was now employed as Bertha's private nurse. As he was preparing to leave the scene of the White House, he met Albert Kidder, a special agent for the F. B. I., busy in- vestigating a case on communist spies. He explained his work to Tom, who then moved on to New York City, where he heard that Sally Littrell was now appearing on television. She had taken over where Lucille Ball had quit, and was enjoying her job im- mensely. Also in New York, he saw Odetta Knuth, now the head fashion designer at Saks Fifth Avenue. She had finally made it after years of hard work. As Tom turns from his telescope, his chief assistant, Wayne Vahldick, brings him bad news about their latest experiment on an easier meansof'transportation between Earth and the moon. He went to work with memor1esof'his old days at C. C. H. S. running through his mind. He knew that his friends were successful and without them, the world would be incomplete. .Sznior Cfadd Jwdfory The history of the Senior Class began in the school year of l9h9-1950 with an enrollment of thirty students. They were: Thomas Paxton, Presidentg Paul Montgomery, Vice-Presidentg Mar- gie Eakins, Secretaryg Raymond Seybold, Treasure, Jessie May Littrell, Reporterg Robert Baker, Kathryn Ryan, and Thomas Pax- ton, Student Councilg Wesley Colvin, Ray Ryan, Albert Kidder, James Ingersoll, Richard Hobby, Jack Hobby, Russell Koch, Robert DeGree, Franklin Langston, Harold Ankenman, Robert Feldman, Vir- ginia Hartinez, Bertha Mae Kattnig, Ada Mae Jennings, Odetta Knuth, Margaret Ann Comer, Frances Oelrich, Joseph Martinez, Luz Sanchez, Chester Koch. And for a swell helper through year, we were given, Miss Gertrude Yeakey, for Soon after the beginning of the school Austin, Elizabeth Marlene Godwin, Edward Bates, and out our Freshmen our Sponsor. year the Seniors initiated us and afterwards we were honored with a party given by the Seniors. In November we lost one of our classmates, Luz Sanches, but gained another in March, Nancy Bennett. We lost another pupil when Virginia Martinez, left us. One day toward the last day of school we teamed up with the Juniors and enjoyed an afternoon party together. And so ended our Freshmen year. As Sophmores, we started out with twenty-nine students, Frances Oelrich left us after a few weeks, but we were fortunate enough to gain Helen Millard, so our attendance stood the same. Thanks to Mr. Manatos, our sponsor, we presented two very successful assemblies, both original ideas of Mlkesn.
