Worship and have a good time, is the theme behind the meetings of the Trinity Club. Under the guidance of Mr. Christianson, this club, represented here by seniors and class officers, makes arrangements for talks by various clergymen, plans to see certain movies, and holds a traditional Christmas party for students of various Protestant faiths. WM CLUB Tltl ITY CLUB Miss Mary Harron guides the Newman Club for the Catholic students of Curtis, rep- resented here by the seniors and officers. Father Navins, the club's spiritual ladviser, provides ideas and arguments to strengthen the faith of its members. The Newman Club sponsors a communion breakfast, a Christmas party and a proiect for foreign missions. SEATED: Thomas Bell, Margaret Bellafiore, Michael Brennan, Janice Churchill. The Art Club was re-established last term under the direction of Mr. Dieffenwirth. During the year it completed many projects, among which was making this year's beau- tiful decorations for the foyer at Christmastime. At regular meetings the members can advance in a particular artistic field such as sculpture. Curtis seems to have several budding sculptors! ABT CLUB BIOLOGY CLUB The Biology Club, after an absence of several years, returned to the Curtis scene this year. Organized by students interested in the biological sciences, the club's activities included trips to the Army laboratories in Manhattan, the Staten Island Zoo, and the U. S. Public Health Service Hospital. Of course, it dissected a frog! Mrs. Speight is the club's lively and well-liked faculty adviser. ISUWLI C CLUB Completing its third year, the Bowling Club is one of the largest and most popular activities in Curtis. Each Tuesday afternoon, over one-hundred and fifty keglers, be- ginners and veterans alike, gather at Madalone's Bowling Center to try to master the game of the maple hardwood. Mr. Richard Ryan and Miss Barbara Pietracatella have the task of supervising and instructing the eager group. KNEELING: Gail Conroy, Maureen Mattsson, Betty Ann Dinger, Joan Sullivan. The Chess Club, dedicated to those stalwart denizens of the realm of silence and thought, is now in its second year and starting to make its presence known in Curtis. Stimulating matches are played among the members and against other schools. Popular Miss Reardon serves as coach and adviser. CHESS CLUB
