ON STAGE: Lawrence Belligiere, Dennis Ship- ,,, man, Victor Panzella. Prominent among the many high-spirited and talented groups here at Curtis is the football band. Under the direction of Mr. Wilhelm, the members of the band demonstrate their musical talents at all of our football games. These skilled musicians arouse the school spirit of every Curtisite and help lead our team to victory with their inspiring melodies. SECOND ROW: Josephine Rucinski, Karen Ander- son, Alice Ucelli, Nancy Welter, Sandra Grey, Mary Lew, Melinda Ferrangano, Mary Anita .Viegel- mann, Ethel Brier, Camille Di Clerico. THIRD ROW: Lee Vik, Christie Mackintosh, Joan Hanson, Marilyn Rubcich, Ann Somma, Marylyn Misawic, Lois Churchill, Pat McGowan. Along with our other featured attractions here at Curtis you can find the boosters. These girls, together with their captain, Rosalie Donnelly, and co-captains, Jane Drake and Sally Cafaro, aid our cheerleaders in the shouting and cheering to lead our basket- ball and football teams to victory, ISIIUQTEIHS

NOT PIC- TURED: Ruth D'Alessandro, Mary Anne Biada. Our cheerleaders demonstrate their pep, loyalty, and talent at football and basket- ball games. We have good reason to be proud of the cheerleaders, as they have held the title of Staten Island Champions for three out of the past four years. This year's squad is led by Captain Sue Pederson and Co-captain Carol Partee. Its UHEERLEfUEHS KNEELING: Mr. Wilhelm, Co- coptain Valerie Stratton, Captain Marta Rella, faculty adviser Miss Friedenberg. STANDING: Mary Ann Olivieri, Phyllis Ricciardi, linda Starlin, Nancy Blomstrom, Barbara Silvestri, Ann Barbarino, Karla Flail, Susan Coburn, Virginia Palumbo. A new addition to the cheering section this year is the spirited corps of maiorettes. Their precision and sparkle have made them favorites not only at games but also at many school productions. Inspiring the girls as they whirl and spin through their routines are Mr. Wilhelm and his orchestra. Miss Friedenberg serves as their adviser. AJUHETTEU

SECOND ROW: Suzanne Davis, Arthur Berger, Jesse Lipcon, Richard Pierce, Phyllis Schiano, Sonia Kosow, Every day during the eighth period the Curtis orchestra can be heard diligently rehearsing under the able direction of Mr. George Wilhelm. Any pupil will agree that the orchestra has made every assembly more enjoyable. During the Christmas season, the orchestra plays a vital part in the Christmas show. But that is only the beginning because with the co-operation of the chorus the members bring cheer to all by playing Christmas music through the halls. The orchestra is active during the spring term also. The Annual Spring Concert is fast becoming a tradition. Mr. Wilhelm
