333 s G 's S 4 KN ,if 41: -.2 gf ff ,E H1 G If Jawa X JUNIOR YEAR September l954 and as we entered the halls of Curtss we agasn felt proud We were not lowly freshmen or sophomores we were qunsors p perclassmen Our heads swelled wsth concert which soon left us when we realszed that thss year would be a challenge We would agasn nomsnate candsdates for G O offsce many of us would be chosen for Arssta we would choose our class rsngs many of us would hold coveted posstsons sn the Football Basketball Track Cross Country Swsmmsng Baseball Bowlsng and Golf teams and the Cheerleadsng Squad and we would have the honor and prsvslege of gsvsng a .lunsor Prom which would make Elsa Maxwell burn wsth envy These thsngs were a challenge but they were met successfully' Even though we had hoped to wsn the G O electsons we could not say that we dad or dsdn t because a new system was snaugu rated whereby no matter whsch party won we also won As a result of the electrons Arlay Godston became Pressdent havsng Emsly Dorset Secretary and Ken Gyarmathy, Vsce Pressdent, as hss fellow offscers On December 4, we presented Stardust the .lunsor Prom, sn honor of the Class of l955 It seemed as though a msracle had been performed when we saw the fsnsshed product of our efforts at transformsng the boys' gym snto a grand ball room for the evensng For days afterward we talked about the wonderful tsme we had that nsght, but our chatter about the prom was soon replaced wsth the excstement of choossng sensor rsngs We ordered them sn March and smpatsently wasted untsl that day sn June when we could walk through the halls wsth our fourth fsngers extended, proudly dssplaysng the emblem of our rank as sensors And so another year came to a close SENIOR YEAR The last three years had sped by and now st was September l955 Comsng back to school now was almost a pleasure for thss tsme we resgned as sensors feared and admsred by frosh and sophomore envsed by the lunsor We were at last the bsg wheels on the campus because members of our own class held the honored pos: tsons sn school government and sports The LOG and the YEARBOOK seemed very smportant now because for the fsrst tsme we were part of them We no longer had to dssplay our sensor rsngs as the ssgn of our posstson we walked talked ate and breathed like Sensors' Even our subgects bragged for us for who could have Latsn 7 and Solsd Geometry but a Sensor? lt was December lO and we were gosng to the prom but thss tsme the prom was besng gsven sn our honor by the Class of l957 The bsg feature was a huge dsamond cut hemssphere on the ceslsng whsch reflected the lght Iske a msllso moonbeams lt wasnt untsl January that we fully realszed how close we were to graduatson Many of us felt sad that we'd soon be leavsng our alma mater Our sadness was soon forgotten when the G O, sn cooperatson wsth the Arssta, presented a Valen tsne's Day dance Lske the Football Rally sn Novem ber, st too, was a success Msdterms and Easter came and went, and fsnally Sensor Day a day that we'd looked for ward to for four years arrsved On thus day we, the Sensors, run the school, taksng over classes and the lunchroom lt's fun sn other ways, too, because we all get dressed up sn our very best clothes lt was a day we'll long remember sec ond only to Graduatson the most smportant day sn our lsves s nm, ffxx 752, N fix? ft 1 I XIJ ffJ '!v l nf N Q X -LL I f xml .g -4 Jn , ll' I B' .
