,sw B cuusmsa I A1 my 1 f N522 f ,, 3' age F AN ii...--' ' X N CLA H 55 JJ S Q FRESHMAN YEAR On September 12 1952 400 eager brught eyed students entered the halls of Curtus Hugh School as the Class of 56 None of us wull ever forget that furst day of our hugh school careers We trooped unto Feldman Hall and lustened atten tuvely as Doc Anderson paternolly warned us agaunst the evuls of the green elevator and the bucket of steam lt was then too that we met Mrs Taylor our grade advuser who promused to lend a sympathetuc ear and a helpung hand Soon Barbara Van Name Pat Moore John O Neull and Bruce Soupy Campbell to represent our class ln the fall of 1952 we wutnessed for the furst tume a G O campaugn We were a but amazed at the revelry that took the place ofthe long wunded speeches we had expected Not only was there a conga lune for the EVEN party but there was also a representatuve body from Mars The motto for that party was of course The ODD party us out of thus world The second term had hardly begun when elec tuon tume rolled around agaun Thus tume Maureen O Bruen and John Lange uouned Barbara Van Name and Soupy Campbell as our class offu cers ln the sprung under the talented durectuon of Mr Ruchard Mudgett and Mr Raphael Kosakoff Curtus Hugh School presented The Mukado operetta by Gulbert and Sulluvan Many students of our own class partucupated and ut was a great success Thus our furst year ended S ll,,ff SOPHOMORE YEAR Another September and we returned to school no longer unsugnufucant luttle freshmen Thus was also the Golden Annuversary of Curtus Hugh School and to celebrate The Vagabond Kung was pre sented un the sprung term wuth uts cast of thou sands We were well represented un thus presen tatuon not as the stars but as the make up staff stage crew and extras for mob scenes At electuon tume we proved how untellugent we were by choosung capable leaders ln the thurd Barbara Van Name Vuce Presudent Thomas Ferry Secretary and John Lange Treasurer Thomas Ferry Dagny Jensen Fauth Solomon and Aruay Godston were our Presudent Treasurer Vuce Presu dent and Secretary respectuvely for our fourth term Another evudence of our superuor posutuon un Curtus was our partucupatuon un the G O campaugn Even through the valuant efforts of the Cheer leaders we dud not come through wuth flyung colors However we felt confudent that we would be vuctoruous un the next electuon As June approached we experuenced muxed emotuons we were happy that vacatuon tume was near and worrued because we would be tak ung our furst Regents Examunatuon We dudn t realuze how short those weeks really were as we duscovered that the more we studued the less we knew and the more we had to study to be able to pass Though few of us fouled those crucual tests many of us sughed un reluef that we had passed and summer vacatuon was too close to have any regrets about the past year ff- QJ h.2 4',fl f- -if .15 'i 5 Z7 XT?
