Another spoke in the large wheel of Curtis activities is the Girls' Bad- minton Club. This club has been in action since l938 and once a week, armed with shuttle cocks, nets and racquets, the girls meet in the gym to learn the skills ofthe game. 4 , Under the direction of Miss Erica Mather, the faculty adviser, and their manager, Virginia Moh- lenhoff, they practice and perfect their techniques. When every one is ready, a tournament is held and the winning team is given credit to- ward a Block C . l l G C The Curtis Riding Club is opened to all students who are interested in riding or learning to ride, Every Monday afternoon the students leave for Clove Lake Stables where they mount their horses and go off on a merry iaunt through Clove Lakes Park.
