B0lilLll'l CLUB This year the Bowling Club, under the direction of Miss Watt, met every Wednesday at the Park Lane Alleys. With their manager, Carol Gunther, the girls tried lo improve their game by giving each other helpful suggestions and practicing faithfully every week. Strikes, spares and gut- terballs were all things they had to take in their stride. Unfortunately for their morale the gutter- balls came more often than the strikes, at first, but the girls kept trying and still dream of the day when they will bowl a perfect 300. BHSKE BBLI. Another spoke in the large wheel of Curtis activities is the Girls' Bad- minton Club. This club has been in action since l938 and once a week, armed with shuttle cocks, nets and racquets, the girls meet in the gym to learn the skills ofthe game. 4 , Under the direction of Miss Erica Mather, the faculty adviser, and their manager, Virginia Moh- lenhoff, they practice and perfect their techniques. When every one is ready, a tournament is held and the winning team is given credit to- ward a Block C . l l G C The Curtis Riding Club is opened to all students who are interested in riding or learning to ride, Every Monday afternoon the students leave for Clove Lake Stables where they mount their horses and go off on a merry iaunt through Clove Lakes Park.
