Have you ever wondered why nauseous chemical odors never seep through our halls, or why an accidental blast never rocks our school to its foundations? There's a good reason, of course, for our peaceful existence. The Chemistry Lab squad is on duty to see that there's never any mixup in deliveries of supplies. This dedicated group keeps the new Chemistry Lab in apple pie order. Without them, we doubt that the Science Department could function at all! COLOR GUHRD At the beginning of every assembly, Curtisites start off the program by singing the Star Spangled Banner and soluting the flag. This is an important ritual in our school life. The job of carrying the flag into assembly and serving as its guards is an honored one. Every year three girls are chosen to fill this position. Captained by Paul Schlereth, who was elected by the Arista members, this squad is responsible for conducting and guiding all of the students and guests who attend the assemblies, They also usher at special programs held during the school year, such as Open School Night, College Night, dramatic programs and graduation. G.0. STORE One of the nicest things about Curtis is the G. O. Store. lt is a great comfort to know that running out of loose-leaf paper, forgetting pens or losing a regents book never become maior calamities in our school. For the G.
