-1 Here at Curtrs we have a democratuc student government known as the General Organlzatlon Thus form of self govern ment by the students gives them the opportunity to manage their own affairs under the gutdance of faculty advlsers The Student Councnl rs the governing body of the G O and IS composed of representattves from all the section rooms tn school Thus all the actnon that the G O takes ts soltdly backed by a representattve student vonce At regularly scheduled meetmgs the Student Council dns cusses the school budget offers Ideas as to how the G O can be perfected and presents any problems that the student body mtght have lt also plans dances and other social events Mr Mnchel the honorary President ts the faculty adviser The Curtis G O IS also represented In the Borough and Cnty Councll meetmgs At these meetmgs schools dnscuss such topncs as better tnter school relatuons and extra currlcular actlvrttes Suggestlons from these meetmgs are taken back to the Student Council where actron ts taken Another part of the G O ts the Executuve Commrttee Com posed of the three G O offrcers the boy and gurl leaders of Arrsta and the captalns of the marshal squads tts 'ob IS to prepare and plan the Councll meetmgs The G O offtcers are inaugurated nn the begtnmng of the Fall term to serve to the following June Thus year Array Godston Ken Gyarmathy and Emily Dorset were elected for the coming school year
