SENIOR PARTIES of food was detected. Hefreshments were served by the mighty football team, who had had excellent experience in guarding. More dancing followed and then obstacle races took the spotlight. Laughter and shouting accompanied the participants. Vllin- ners were awarded baby prizes and then forgotten as the beatgone-two-three-kick claimed the audience. The Conga, as performed bythe entire body, provided much entertainment. As the line gradually diminished to the last strains of the music, jitterbugs uswungil out in true spirit, itil the tune of Home Sweet Home fnttingly put an encl to the merrymaking. One and all looked forward to the next Senior Party. The second Party, although not as good as its predecessor, was another event to be added to the Red Letter Days of the Senior Calendar. Swing and Sway JANUARY Throughout the Upper Senior Register Rooms, heads were seen hent over attractive circulars. Pencils were taken out and the upper-classmen signed with the flourishing scrawl of Seniors. Thus the announcement of the first Senior Class Party was heralded. The girls were cautioned to dress in a collegiate manner. Vllhat were we in for? When the long awaited day arrived, a hevy of students could he seen rushing towards the boys, gym. Soon the fun began. The Seniors proved their versatility by their rendition of the various popular dance steps. However this was soon for- gotten as the square dancing was introduced. From a Virginia Reel the couples went into a Grand March. Led by the class olhcers, the Seniors proved that the floor could hold them. Then, a circle was formed and the students energetically went through a Paul Jones. Durinigg this lively session, the odor

ll ii PHUIVI November twenty-ninth was the hig nightl Crownup for a while, young couples in gala attire streamed into the boys' gymnasium, which had been magically transformed into an undersea paradise. Mermaids and fish of all sizes and colors, dangling from the ceiling, and seagreen crepe paper on the wall made the illusion complete. Girls in evening gowns and young men in tuxedoes, danced to the melodious music of the orchestra, while members of the faculty, resplendent in their formal attire, also enjoyed themselves immensely. The highlight of the prom was the grand march, led by our principal, Mr. Avent. During the evening, soft drinks and assorted cookies were served. When the last strains of music had ceased, and the hands of the clock pointed to twelve, the festive group left reluctantly, knowing that it would never forget that night of nights.
