Dull First Sergeant Axel E, Strauch 5 WHILE it is difficult to do justice to Battery B's athletic ac- complishments, Tom tries. lt's really no wonder that they're good, he states. ln the first place, B Battery has Charley Brooks, probably the best athlete in the school, and a lot of others who come close, like Sumner, Hoover, and Alban. Then their counselor is Major Mars, who was All-Eastern end his senior year at Brown. Somebody told me he hit three home runs in one game against Dartmouth, too. pu- YES, but how do your famous athletes do in their studies? asks Vi, a little skeptically , A . All right! replies Tom, You couldn't have picked a better spot to ask that question. Main Barrack here placed six or seven men in Cum Laude this year, four lrom Battery B: Concheso, Marshall, Hoover, and Sumner. The last two are the athletes whom I mentioned a minute ago.
