ied in the service of their country., Sir... The new Naval School Building. WIC ARIS IN TIIIC IIOM ES'FRlC'I'Cll. The Christmas holidays Came and went, and we returned to Culver with the prospeet of semester ex- aminations to eheer us up. llard as it always is to leave home, some of us can reeall the time when we had no spring vaeation to provide a break between January and June. Semester tests we weathered de- spite our gloomy forebodings. ln faet, many of us did well and got eleeted to Cum Laude. :X lot more of us garnered gold and silver -Vs to add to the adormnents on our euffs. ln addition to routine duties. daily studies, and weekly events ol the standard sort, the first hall' of the new half eentury produeed some unique episodes. lfarly in February we emerged in a blaze of Color in the pages of the SllfIlfl'Il!I,V Evening Post. The l,ion's Club from tl1e town of Culver pill on a minstrel showg and lloraee lleidt brought his band and Peperettes to enliven a partieularly awful winter afternoon. liefore vaeation we enjoyed the Infantry Dance, while the Mounted Service Danee broke up the period between vacation and Commenee- ment. Spring arrived with its rain and parades. Unee again we assem- bled on Memorial Day to pay our respects to those men of Culver who during these fateful fifty years laid down their lives in their eountrfs servife. A few more days, and many of us will pass through the lron Gate to join the great body of alumni all over the world. Like them we shall cherish our memories of Culver and wear our rings with pride. Approaching the end.
