They really took off after their first few games with their unpredicted crushing defeat of the Woodside Priory teamg that got their pictures in the Crystal Springs Uplands newsletter. Team spirits were dampened by charges of recruiting and the big steroids scare. Allegations of steroid use were dismissed by star running back David Apple, who claimed, l could always bench 475!,' Further studies by officials indicated that the school's cafeteria food is just plain good for you. Other highlights of the season included being on the Oprah Winfrey Show after their narrow victory over the New York Giants. Since the Uplands team consists mainly of Freshmen, Coach Szumilas foresees another winning season ahead.
