FOLLOW THAT B RD We are ve proud ol' the new sugn that welcomes ea of us to school everyday The Annual Stall thought you d like to know what went on behlnd the scenes so here s a little vlew of what went on rn our own Agri shop Back ln July of 1986 Art lnstructor Ms Krlstle Mashbum and Student Councul Press dent Johnle Hampton discussed the posslblll of burldlng a slgn ln front of the school fter contactnng all the necessa people Mrs Mashbum and Johme sal Let s start bulldlng The bou ht all of the needed matenals and w the el of Bert Adams they began construction any nails and blisters later one side of the slgn was together Alter making a rough sketch on the sl n the paint began to fly fter two weeks sl one was complete and my were they proud! The process started all over a ain as side two was started More nalls and b tsters and heat as the temperature pushed 100 After another two weeks side two was com he toughest part was yet to come Several loyal students were contacted and asked to help in this tlnal feat They canned lt out to lts prospective locatlon and both sldes were nailed together Two-foot holes had to be d to secure the sign and thanks to Carwel Elevator a machine was provided Once the holes were dug they began to llft the sugn oft lts legs and into the holes For the flrst tame they discovered just how heavy the sign was The holes were too shallow so they had to pull rt back out They dug the holes deeper and trled agam They were all so tlredl Sud denly a constructlon worker from across the way appeared and was defrmtely a srght for sore e es! Wlth his help the sign was pushed up a it was a perfect fit!
