s our yearbook year started out, I thought long and hard about a theme. After walking down our halls, I discovered that there were nineteen senior portraits hanging from the wall. Then it hit me. This year would be our school's twentieth anniversary. From there, I, with the help of the staff, read that the twentieth anniversary gift is PLATINUM. The wheels really began to turn, and we jointly concluded that the theme would be WE,VE FINALLY HIT PLATINUM. I hoped, as we decided on our theme, that this year would be packed full of exciting and memorable events because we were really ready to capture them. Next came the new and improved layout design. Cap- tivating the mind of the reader would be the goal of our layout. The staff and I worked hard on writing, changing, adding, and rearranging everything. The pages were finally ridded of unsightly white space. This yearbook is absolutely jam-packed full of the year's activities. I hope the added articles will be enjoyable and informative. They may not really be appreciated now, however, twenty years down the road, when our minds begin to degenerate, the helpful hint of a name or two will be appreciated. The staff and I have put much time and untold effort into this year- book, and we hope you think it is as great as we do. Speaking for the whole staff, we hope you enjoy reviewing this yearbook as much as we enjoyed putting it together. Words cannot express my sincerest appreciation to Mrs. Dorothy Cooper, who spent a trememdous amount of time checking over pages and looking for our mistakes. More than anything I appreciated her support, and her sense of humor, and I will always respect her. She backed us all the way just as she's done with other yearbook staffs over the past twenty years at C.C.H.S. I would also like to thank Mrs. Kay Wilson and Mrs. Joyce Woodham for carting us to sell adver- tisements. The office personnel should also be mentioned for I felt I was driving them crazy with my frequent visits. They all helped out in many ways. A big word of thanks should go to Mr. Robert Jenkins for doing a fantastic job of photography on the senior division page, the endsheets, and especially the cover. And to the worId's greatest year- book staff, I would like to say thanks for your ideas, support, and respect with which you helped me through the year. Last, but not least, I would like to thank my family for putting up with my frequent memory lapses at home due to yearbook deadlines. I am in high hopes that as you have reviewed this yearbook, you will always remember the many things that made our year PLATINUM. Johnie Hampton - Editor
