JD I BERRY FUTRELL I If I Should Be The Next To Go 7 . I f , IN LOVING MEMORY or . M 1, ,J x K ., 1968-1986 If I should be the next to go l pray that it won't hurt you so lt breaks my heart to see you sad l want so much for you to be glad l know how lonesome we all are To have one so dear gone so far And yet it is within our reach That time will come and close the breach Arid we will know a perfect life And there will be no stress and strife. And we will all together be In our heavenly home for eternity. For God has us His promise given That we will meet again in heaven And in His Word l put my trust And know He will take care of us, And l know that there is someone there Safe and happy in His perfect care And waiting for the rest of us As each in turn will journey there. And if I should be the next to go Try not to feel too much woe For even though the loss is sad There is a reason to be glad And even though we might forget Something better awaits us yet And as each parting is hard to bear The greater reunion we will share. And if the next should not be me I know that there will sorrow be And I will just await my turn And with all my heart I will yearn For the fulfillment of God's perfect plan To all be together once again. -- Belvia Bourland This Memorial Was Sponsored By The Senior Class Of 1987 MMMML we aww, ww' JVAWPQQA Jiflwf d.AfQQg4 QiW.rI Www, 'lion 0553? 75?iZ3fTMM gwgfwsifimiae QJZZN Smut me Qukwm wing EMM 5nmwroQmet Mg 8 F, Wee ewes ww new uilmgfy CSKJLUQ Wuja-JQU am .. s our yearbook year started out, I thought long and hard about a theme. After walking down our halls, I discovered that there were nineteen senior portraits hanging from the wall. Then it hit me. This year would be our school's twentieth anniversary. From there, I, with the help of the staff, read that the twentieth anniversary gift is PLATINUM. The wheels really began to turn, and we jointly concluded that the theme would be WE,VE FINALLY HIT PLATINUM. I hoped, as we decided on our theme, that this year would be packed full of exciting and memorable events because we were really ready to capture them. Next came the new and improved layout design. Cap- tivating the mind of the reader would be the goal of our layout. The staff and I worked hard on writing, changing, adding, and rearranging everything. The pages were finally ridded of unsightly white space. This yearbook is absolutely jam-packed full of the year's activities. I hope the added articles will be enjoyable and informative. They may not really be appreciated now, however, twenty years down the road, when our minds begin to degenerate, the helpful hint of a name or two will be appreciated. The staff and I have put much time and untold effort into this year- book, and we hope you think it is as great as we do. Speaking for the whole staff, we hope you enjoy reviewing this yearbook as much as we enjoyed putting it together. Words cannot express my sincerest appreciation to Mrs. Dorothy Cooper, who spent a trememdous amount of time checking over pages and looking for our mistakes. More than anything I appreciated her support, and her sense of humor, and I will always respect her. She backed us all the way just as she's done with other yearbook staffs over the past twenty years at C.C.H.S. I would also like to thank Mrs. Kay Wilson and Mrs. Joyce Woodham for carting us to sell adver- tisements. The office personnel should also be mentioned for I felt I was driving them crazy with my frequent visits. They all helped out in many ways. A big word of thanks should go to Mr. Robert Jenkins for doing a fantastic job of photography on the senior division page, the endsheets, and especially the cover. And to the worId's greatest year- book staff, I would like to say thanks for your ideas, support, and respect with which you helped me through the year. Last, but not least, I would like to thank my family for putting up with my frequent memory lapses at home due to yearbook deadlines. I am in high hopes that as you have reviewed this yearbook, you will always remember the many things that made our year PLATINUM. Johnie Hampton - Editor
